Discover the joy of stitching, experimenting, and creating in StitchWise: Piece by Piece—an exciting, hands-on sewing experience led by BERNINA Educator Shelly Fitzgerald (bio below). This round-robin style workshop lets you rotate between the 9, 7, 5, and L8 Series BERNINA machines, learning new skills while sharing a machine with a partner.

| Instructor Bio: | Shelly Fitzgerald brings a dynamic mix of enthusiasm, expertise, and creativity to every classroom and event. Whether it’s overlocking, garment sewing, quilting, home décor, machine embroidery, or BERNINA software, she has a deep knowledge of both the craft and the tools that make it shine. With a lifetime of sewing and crafting experience, Shelly makes learning lively, approachable, and fun—leaving students energized and inspired to explore their machines to the fullest. Never afraid to break out of the ordinary, Shelly encourages students to try new techniques, push buttons, adjust settings, and use accessories in exciting new ways. From ruffling to punching to sewing with your left foot, she shows how easy it is to stretch creative boundaries—and proves that sewing should always feel exciting, not intimidating. Through her company, Sew Shelly Quilts, LLC, she develops original patterns and classes designed to showcase the extended capabilities of every BERNINA product. A member of the BERNINA Event Team since 2014, she has been part of beloved programs like Sewapalooza and BERNINA Academy. Shelly also connects with stitchers worldwide on her YouTube channel, Sew Shelly Quilts , where she shares close-up tutorials on BERNINA feet, accessories, the BERNINA 880 Plus, V8 and V9 embroidery software, her Q20, and her latest love—the L890. |
